Jewell Baker

Jewell Baker age 94, a longtime resident of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 8:28PM at Butler County Care Facility. Born in Jackson County, Kentucky on January 31, 1913, the daughter of the late William Preston and Cynthia Ann (Alcorn) Webb. She was married to Tye Baker in Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1981. Jewell was a very loving, giving person and cherished every moment with her family. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, which she sustained even when she was suffering with pain. She was a avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

She is survived by daughters; Pauline Crase of Hamilton, Phyllis (Ted) Flynn of Fairfield; son, Ronald Baker of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Gayle (Rick) Rowland, Jamie (Stephanie) Baker; four great-grandchildren, Kelli (Mike) Lail, Loren Rowland, Alexis and Tanner Baker; two great-great grandchildren, Madelyn and Brady Lail; sister, Ethel Hurst of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Glenn Crase; three sisters, Pearl Marie, Retha, Veda; five brothers, Floyd, Ray, Lyndon, Earl and Bonnie. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her, but will have many happy memories. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Zettler, her family doctor for many years, to the Staff of Butler County Care Facility for the compassionate care given to our mother and to Vitas Hospice for their loving care in her final days.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 2PM with Rev. Alan Weaver, Pastor of the Hamilton Church of God officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 2PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
