Joan R. Morlino

Joan R. Morlino, age 73 of Hamilton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Joan was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 21, 1944 to Edward J. Rakowski and Miriam S. Rakowski. Joan was an avid reader. She also was an expert seamstress making items ranging from baby christening gowns to intricate quilted jackets. She utilized her profound artistic abilities to create and implement various projects for organizations of which she was a member, including the Butler County Historical Society and the Butler County Master Gardeners.

Joan is survived by her husband, Joseph V. Morlino; son, Denis M. (Kim) Morlino; daughter, Elisabeth A. Morlino; grandchildren, Joseph S. Morlino & Abigail A. Morlino. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Edward J. & Miriam S. Rakowski; brother, Edward M. Rakowski.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 9:30 AM. The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to One Way Farm, 6131 River Rd, Fairfield, OH 45014, or Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011.
