Joan Elaine Houston

Joan Elaine Houston, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away in the arms of her daughter and son on Sunday, March 9, 2025. Joan was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 19, 1949 to Walter and Irene (Eckstein) DeLong. She attended Queen of Peace for grade school and graduated in 1967 from Ross High School. Joan worked for the Butler County Courts for many years as a hardworking and dependable clerk until her retirement in 2006. She was a dedicated, lifelong member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was steadfast and unyielding in her faith in God. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Joan was known for her toughness and resolve yet possessed a carefree demeanor.

Joan is survived by her children, Stephanie (Jesse) Wesley and David (Jodi) Houston; her granddaughters, Madison, Maci, Maggie and Mallory Wesley; her grandson, Colton Houston; her sisters, Rosemary (the late Bert) Miley, Charlotte (the late Ronald) Gardner, Catherine (the late Bob) Gardner, and Joyce (Shorty) Follick; and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Irene DeLong; four brothers, Billy, Danny (Mary), Johnny (Gwen), Donnie (Sherlie) DeLong; and three sisters, Helen (Jerry) Hacker, Dorothy (Roy) Morgan, and Jeanette (Jim) Lambert.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jeff Silver celebrant.  Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
