John Bibee Jr.

John Bibee Jr., age 77 of Okeana passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. He was born in Franklin County, Indiana on April 4, 1933 the son of John A. and Inzia (Boatwright) Bibee. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1952 to 1954. He was employed at the state highway department for over 40 years, and worked at Royster Clark and Baker Hardware, and had been currently employed at Tractor Supply in Harrison. John was a member of the West Hamilton Eagles #3986 serving as chaplain, and Eagle Riders #3986. He was also a member of Amvets Post #1983. He enjoyed farming and all his animals, especially his dog Bingo. On April 16, 1952 in Fort Jackson, South Carolina he married Virginia Jones, and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2007. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Dittman and Marilyn (Randy) Glancy, both of Millville; four grandchildren, Candice (Jamie) Berryman, Melissa (Shawn) Day, Daniel Dittman, and Theodore Dittman; and five great-grandchildren, Lance Turner, Raina Dittman, Ashton Day, Sydnee Berryman, an Abigale Berryman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Logan Day; and a son-in-law, Donald Dittman.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Scipio Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Eagle services held at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morgan Township Fire Department, American Heart Association, or to Animal Adoption Foundation. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Morgan Township Life Squad.
