John Carey Jr.

John Carey Jr., age 56 of Hamilton passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 6:28 PM. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1955 the son of John Sr. and Dorothy (Crawford) Carey. John was employed as a truck driver for Ashland Oil for 20 years and was the owner/operator of Carey and Sons Construction. He played an active role in CYO Football as well as Friends of Football and was a member of Monkey Mutual Aid Society. John was known for his love of cooking and grilling.

He is survived by two sons, John (Holly) Carey of Delray Beach, Florida and Zach Carey of Sanders, Kentucky; his girlfriend, Tina Gilliam of Liberty Township; a sister, Patricia (Steve) Dussair of Cherry Valley, Illinois; a grandson, Aiden Carey; a special niece, Libby Combs; and special friends Lowell and Gladys Gouge. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Smith and David Combs; and his second parents, Charles and Kizzie Combs.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
