John P. Crews

John P. Crews, age 87 of Fairfield, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, February 20, 2017. Hewas born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 3, 1929 to Ray K. and Loma (Manley) Crews. John was a veteran of the Korean War with the USMC from 1948 to 1952 and the US Air Force from 1955 to 1957. On December 24, 1955 in Lexington, Kentucky he married Barbara Alice Thomas and she preceded him in death in 1989 and July 6, 1996 in Hamilton he married Samantha Schiff. John was a tractor trailer truck driver for forty years and owned a picture framing business for numerous years before retiring in 2015. He attended Calvary Christian Center.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Crews of Fairfield; one brother, Edward (Camilla) Crews of Winchester, Kentucky; his son, Ron Crews of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-sons, Michael (Lana) Hatfield of Fairfield and Sam Hatfield of Seven Mile; one grandson, Jon (Pamela) Thompson of Vandalia; one granddaughter, Kelly of Dayton; four step grandchildren, Shelby, Corinna, Tristian, and Logan; and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arvella; two daughters, Brenda Sue Crews and Teresa Ann Thompson; and step son, David Hatfield.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave.,on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00 PM until time of serive at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be held at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 W Lexington Ave, Winchester, KY 40391, on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery.
