John E. Gumm

John E. Gumm, age 81 of Fairfield, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 14, 1944 the son of Bleve and Kathryn (Seals) Gumm. John was employed at Champion International Paper for twenty-five years, retiring in 2012. On November 27, 1963, in Hamilton he married Victoria Wright and she preceded him in death in 2021. He was an annual participant in the Antique Car Parade and won several awards.

John is survived by two sons, Greg (Karla) Gumm and John (Angie) Gumm; three grandchildren, Alex (Jennifer) Gumm, Jade (Alex) Nicastro, and Mallory Gumm; three great grandchildren, Theo, Jack, and Arlo; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings, Thurman, Harrison, Delia, James, Kathleen, Christine, Geraldine, Donald, and Virginia.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Vince Marquis officiating. Entombment will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
