John Douglas Huffman, age 34 of Monroe passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:21 PM. He was born in Hamilton on April 22, 1976 the son of Douglas James and Debra (Gibbs) Huffman. John was employed as a pipe fitter apprentice for United Services. John enjoyed kenpo karate, cars, music, physical fitness, and loved to eat. He was a very nurturing and loving man who devotedly cared for his father and fellow Raiders fan while he was dying.
He is survived by his mother, Debra (Roy Hord) Huffman of Liberty Township; a brother, Patrick Lee Huffman of Liberty Township; grandparents Maeola Huber of Hamilton, and Jim and Edna Huffman of Seven Mile; an uncle, Jason Huffman of Seven Mile; two aunts, Sandra Wells of Overland Park, Kansas and Jamie Marchetti of Fairfield; a special cousin, David Wells of Chicago; and many other cousins, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas James Huffman; and grandfathers William Huber and James Gibbs.
Funeral service will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Brian Straub of Bethany United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
