John Julian Jones

John Julian Jones, Broken Feather, uyotsvhi ugidali. Bird Clan of the Cherokee, age 81, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved late wife, Shelby Jean on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was born in Clendenin, West Virginia on August 28, 1934 to Oscar Dennis and Grace Elizabeth (Drake) Jones. On June 22, 1955 in Clendenin, West Virginia he married his beloved wife, Shelby Jean Simpson. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary prior to her death in 2013. John worked for Dan Cohen Shoe stores until they settled in Hamilton Ohio in 1964. He then went on to work for Beckett Paper Company as a millright, with 37 years of service. John was a jack of all trades, and enjoyed working with his hands, spending time in his garden, and with his dogs, Rosie and Lilly. He was a man who always lent a helping hand, a kind word, and good advice. He loved to watch Cincinnati Reds Baseball. His heart was centered on the Lord, and he attended Stahlheber Baptist Church.

He leaves behind a legacy of love with his son, Tony F.(Jill) Jones; daughter, Deborah J. Jones; adopted daughter, Pat Andler-Henke; grandchildren Sherri (Jeff) Stilkey, Megan (Bobby) Harrell, Andrew (Akiko) Jones, and Tony D. Jones; great-grandchildren Jackson and Lucy Stilkey; Simon and Ezra Harrell, and Lucas, Jake, and Ashley Jones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelby Jean Jones; parents; sisters, and granddaughter, Aubrey Jones.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com.
