John Lairson

John Lairson, age 65 of New Miami, passed away at Bethesda Butler Hospital on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. John was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 4, 1959 to the late Manuel and Gertrud (Arnold) Lairson. John worked many construction jobs over the years and was a member of the local laborer’s union. In his later years, John would often go up to the union hall to play Tonk and spend time with the other retirees. He enjoyed the outdoors, from fishing to collecting rocks and camping. If you were looking for John, you would probably find him driving around New Miami on his golf cart (which was registered, insured and street legal). He loved spending time with his family, especially with his kids and grandkids.

John will be dearly missed by his children, Shaun (Mandi) Lairson, Charles “C.J.” (Mandy) Colwell, John “J.J.” Lairson, Jr., Tonya (James) Metcalf, and Allison Lairson; his grandchildren, Maximos, Matthias, Jaiden, Chase, Riley, Dillon, Taylor, Maddisohn, Samantha, Luke, James, Elijah, Estella, and Zoey; his great-grandchildren, Jessie and Karou; his siblings, Robert (Brenda) Lairson, Paula Prewitt, Pearl Kellum, Charles Lairson, Linda Lairson, Stephen Lairson, Norma (Robert) Wagers, and Caroline Lawson; his sister-in-law, Wilma Dean Lairson; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who are too numerous to mention by name.

John is reunited in Heaven with his loving companion, Brenda Star Rice; his children’s mother, Lori Lairson; his parents and his siblings, Joseph and Manuel Lairson; his brothers-in-law, Johnny Prewitt and Greg Kellum; his sister-in-law, Darlene Lairson; and his nephew, John Prewitt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
