John Daniel "Pollock" Layton

John Daniel "Pollock" Layton, age 65 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 4:00 PM. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 12, 1943 the son of Frederick and Lucille (Neshkoff) Stork. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era from 1963 to 1969 and was employed as a crane operator at Fenton Rigging for 30 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #3986, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, loved gardening, hunting and fishing with family and friends.

He is survived by four daughters, Tina Jean (James) Huff, Lucy (Greg) Beckman, Johnnie (Adam) Muterspaw, and Lori (Richard) Pope, all of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, David Pendergrass, Amanda Green, Kara Beckman, Brooklyn Muterspaw, John Adam Muterspaw, and Tabitha Jenkins, and Christine, Annie, and Michael; a brother, Fred (Thelma) Layton of Hamilton; two sisters, Joyce Zenk of Florida and Joann (John) Rhodus of College Corner; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Stork, and his mother and stepfather, Lucille and Ance P. Layton.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kim Katterheinrich, Pastor of Redeemer Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
