John W. Nantz, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 7:02 PM. He was born in McWhorter, Kentucky on March 10, 1926 the son of Calvin and Eva (Roberts) Nantz. John was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 and a Kentucky Colonel. He was employed in the shipping department at Fisher Body for 38, retiring in 1988. John was a Deacon and faithful member of Bible-Way Missionary Baptist. On July 26, 1948 in London, Kentucky he married Loris Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Loris Nantz of Hamilton; three children, Patricia Zeller of Hamilton, Bill (Debra) Nantz of New Palestine, Indiana, and Ed (Marcia) Nantz of Middletown; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Jessie Shepherd of McWhorter, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Terry Zeller; a grandson, Timmy Zeller; five sisters, Oma King, Zona Deaton, Phrona Murray, Essie Smith, and Bessie Cornett; five brothers, Everett, Albert, Watt, Carl, and Bob Nantz.
Funeral service will be held at Bible Way Missionary Baptist, 1324 Millville Avenue, on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ron Pittman and Pastor Earl Rosenbalm officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Woodlands Assisted Living and Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support.
