John Lee Parker

John Lee Parker, age 60 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Friday, January 14, 2011. He was born in Corbin, Kentucky on April 23, 1950 the son of James B. and Julia (Black) Parker. John was a 1968 graduate of New Miami High School and was employed as a clerk at CSX Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Baptist Faith, a member of TCU for 42 years, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.

He is survived by three aunts, Roberta Thompson of London, Kentucky, Bertha Black of Gary, Indiana and Joyce Black of Maryland; and many cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, January 19 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tim Mullins of Greenhills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenhills Baptist Church.
