John M. Profitt

John M. Profitt, age 75 of Muskegon, MI passed away at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center on Friday, March 23 at 1:19PM. He was born in Hazard, KY on October 26, 1936, the son of Millard and Allie (Muncy) Profitt. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a Quality Auditor at Johnson Technology for 13 years, retiring in 2000. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1955 and lived in Hamilton and worked at Aeronca in Middletown and Fairchild Aircraft until 1987. John was an avid golfer and played in many golf leagues. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #501. He attended Spring Lake Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake, MI and Calvary Baptist Church in Muskegon, MI. John was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by daughters, Dawn Hollingsworth of Kirkland, WA and Krista DeDeaux of Muskegon, MI; grandchildren, Alexis DeDeaux and Savannah DeDeaux both of Muskegon, MI; sister, Desiree Lagergren and brother-in-law Ted Lagergren both of Cincinnati, OH; nephew, Jonas Lagergren of Steilacoom, WA; niece, Drew Price of Columbus, OH; and many other relatives and friends in the Hamilton area. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be 10am, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue with Pastor Don L. Sheperd officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First Tee at https://donate.thefirsttee.org.
