John W. "Billy" Snader, age 72, passed away at home on Febuary 3, 2011, surrounded by loved ones to join friends and family already in Heaven. Billy was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on September 26, 1938, the son of John Randolph and Laumma Mae (Spears) Snader. He traveled the world serving our country as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1961. Billy was a loving and devoted husband to Diana Lynn (Arvin) Snader. Pa-paw enjoyed fishing and camping with his precious grandbabies and family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Diana, three children, John W. (Crissy), Catherine Snader and Jennifer (Vince) Snader-Starkey. He leaves four precious grand babies who were the light of his life: John III, Emily and Abigail Snader and Caleb Snader-Starkey. He will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters, Joe (Marcella) Snader of Mt. Juliett, TN, Nancy (Jerry) Dandridge of NC, Carolyn (David) Baker of Hamilton, Ruth (Ray) Wagers of Hamilton, Michael (Debbie) Snader of Fairfield. He also will be missed by sisters and brother-in-law, Andrea Asher and Jennifer (Dallis) Scenters. Uncle Bill will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a special sister-in-law, Alice Robinson, and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Asher and Allen Arvin; and Edgar (Irene) Snader.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Albert Friend of Abundant Life Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
