John L. Work

John L. Work, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, November 4, 2016. John was born in Cambridge, Ohio on March 25, 1940 to Lester and Mildred (Miller) Work. In Hamilton, on May 9, 1980 John married Marilyn Jones. He worked at the Village of New Miami Water Department as Superintendent for 32 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, and golfer. John was a member of Moose Lodge #36, Eagles 407, and AMVETS Post 1983.

John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn Work; his children, Julie Worth, Terry (Joan) Work, John Work Jr, Teresa (Marty Baker) Lane, and Amanda (Adam Sortman) Gibbs; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Nancy (Jay) Foster and William (Carol) Work; numerous other family members and special friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; a step son, Darrell Jones; and daughter, Melanie Work.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 6:00 PM with Rev. Neil Gabbard officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
