Johnny Oval Jones

Johnny Oval Jones, age 82 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 6:05AM. He was born in Indiana on May 2, 1931 to Willie and Soretta (Saylor) Jones. Oval was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army from 1949-1954. Johnny enjoyed horses, and listening to Bluegrass Music, along with spending time with his family. On April 12th, 1963 in Williamsburg, KY he married Bertha Mills.

He is survived by his wife Bertha Jones, of Hamilton; three children, Carolyn (Paul) Vulgamore, Robin (David Ritchie) Ramey, Shane Travis (Marylee Dawn) Jones, all of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Travis Ramey, Brandy Haney, Jason Ramey, Paul Ramey, Jeremy Belcher, Shaylee Jones, Shane Jones, April Sizemore, and Nick Sizemore; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Zenith (Cleta) Jones, and Charlie "Bill" Jones; and one daughter in law Bonnie Dayhoff. He was preceded in death by parents; one son Paul Shannon Jones; four sisters, Jaunita Caldwell, Myrtle Bowling, Willa Mae Cowden, Jewel Van Wie.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2PM with Pastor Richard Salyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 1-2PM at the funeral home.
