Johnny T. Wilhoit

Johnny T. Wilhoit, age 86 of Fairfield passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, May 25, 2009. He was born in Means, Kentucky on July 3, 1922 the son of Alfred and Mattie (Spencer) Wilhoit. Johnny was employed as a machine operator at Fisher Body for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of UAW Local #233, 3 C’s, Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. On July 21, 1942 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky he married Virginia Cooper, and she preceded him in death in 2000.

He is survived by four daughters, JoAnn (Jim) Dozier of Fairfield, Joy Pratt of DeLand, Florida, Connie Wilhoit of Fairfield, and Toni (George) Franks of Pomana Park, Florida; four grandchildren, Philip, Rebekah, and Sara Dozier, and George Franks; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Philip Michael, Austin, Briana, Brittani, and Kayden; a brother, Winfred (Thelma) Wilhoit of Hamilton; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and other relatives and friends, including his special friends at McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters; three brothers; one sister; and a brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Randy Sapp of Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene officiating. Committal service will follow at 12:00 noon on Friday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, Kentucky.
