Jon Douglas "Doug" Hammons

Jon Douglas "Doug" Hammons, age 70 of Terrace Park, passed away in his residence on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 5:30 PM. He was born in Hamilton on April 12, 1939 the son of Elmer and Hope Eleanor (Schwarztrauber) Hammons. Doug was employed as a system technician for Cincinnati Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1997. In 1958 he was married to Joyce "Joy" Molinsky.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce "Joy" Hammons of Terrace Park; his mother, Hope Eleanor Hammons of Hamilton; one son, Joseph (Emily) Hammons of Indianapolis, Indiana; three daughters, Beth (Robert) Buehler of St. Louis, Missouri, Julie Hammons and Nancy (Dave) Talbot, both of Cincinnati; and eight grandchildren, Natalie, Samuel, Emily, Molly, Mary, Thomas, Leo, and Henry. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Hammons and two brothers, Gary and Roger Hammons.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 100 Miami Avenue, Terrace Park, on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Archbishop Moeller High School, 9001 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242 in memory of Jon D. Hammons.
