Joseph "Dode" Adelsperger

Joseph "Dode" Adelsperger, age 94 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 7:35AM. He was born in Hamilton on December 3, 1912, the son of Joseph and Georgianna (Epp) Adelsperger. Dode was a 1932 graduate of Hamilton Catholic School; a member of the Butler County Officials Association; officiating basketball for twenty years in Butler and Hamilton Counties and was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. He was employed in maintenance for Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton for twenty-nine years and then was a stationary fireman for the Hamilton Board of Education for thirteen years retiring in 1976. On April 4, 1936 in Covington, Kentucky, he was married to Alma "Toots" Becker, celebrating their seventy-first wedding anniversary this April.

He is survived by his wife, Alma "Toots" Adelsperger of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Donna "D.J." Adelsperger and her daughters, Nikki and Tiffany and her close friend, Tagg DeVillez all of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Crystal (Robert) Easton of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Christa (Richard) King of Columbus, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Jake, Sara, Matt, Christopher, Brandon, Amber and Jordan and two great-great grandchildren and also four sisters-in-law, Cleo Ketay, Carol Becker, Marietta Becker and Ann Adelsperger. He was preceded in death by two sons, James in 1998 and Jack in 2000 and a grandson, Steve in 2004 and also two brothers, Paul and Carl and one sister, Melba Lake and four brothers-in-law, Al, Ted, Bob, and Jack Becker and three sisters-in-law, Mary Montgomery, Agnes Betzold and Sister Margaret Becker.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11AM with Father Michael Pucke, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10AM to 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church.
