Joseph Carroll Stewart

Joseph Carroll Stewart, age 92 of Lebanon passed away at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community on Monday, April 19, 2011 at 3:45 AM. He was born in Cincinnati on November 25, 1918 the son of Dyas A. and Elsie (Vogler) Stewart. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946 and was employed as an agent for Volunteer Fireman Insurance Services of Ohio. He was a member of Norwood Masonic Lodge #576. On August 5, 1940 in Cincinnati, he married Bessie Jane "Bunny" Burk, and she preceded him in death in 2002.

He is survived by two children, Peg (Charles) Seifert of Camden and Joseph Cory (Bonita) Stewart of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Zachary Stewart, Justin Stewart, Bradley (Renee) Hendrix, Stewart (Darcy) Hendrix, Kelly (Michael) Halderman, and Karry (Tim) Scott; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Shelby, Burke, Brennan, and Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carroll Ann Hendrix; two brothers, Paul and Clarence Stewart; and a sister, Audrey Schultz.

Private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
