Josephine E. Rice

Josephine E. Rice, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Montgomery Care Center on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 3:25 PM. She was born in Hamilton on December 23, 1925 the daughter of William and Lula (Byron) White.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Rice of Overpeck and Kenny Rice of New Miami; three daughters, Karen Lotz of Port Orange, Florida, Patty Miller of Chicago, Illinois, and Rita (Sam) Absher of Peebles; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emory Rice; two sons, Jerry and Jay Rice; a brother, William White; a sister, Mildred; and a great-grandson, Josh Bristol.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Keith Risner, Pastor of Edgewood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
