Joshua D. Retherford

Joshua D. Retherford, age 38 of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Joshua was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 12, 1986 to Ronald D. Retherford and Pamela Bailey. Joshua  married the love of his life, Shanna on August 8, 2015. Joshua enjoyed spending his time fishing, doing outdoor activities like four wheeling and canoeing, and traveling and taking trips with his  wife and his family. Joshua enjoyed throwing elaborate parties where he would set off fireworks and be the grill master so everyone could have a good time. Joshua enjoyed spending time with his friends that he served alongside in the Marines whether he was physically present with them or just calling them up on the phone. Joshua was a decorated Marine sergeant who spent 8 years serving the country. Joshua was currently serving as a Program Manager at the Juvenile Justice Center for the last 8 years and loved helping the youth there to find new purpose. Joshua was a friend to more people than you would ever be able to imagine and saved so many lives through his compassion.

Joshua is survived by his loving wife, Shanna Retherford; his daughters , Autumn Snader and Alexa Farley; his mother, Pamela Bailey (Ronnie Conlin);his mother in law Deborah (Dave) Brown; his brothers in law, Jeremy Pegg and Sean (Heather) Isaacs; his grandmother, Doris Bailey; his aunt Sheree Sparks; his father in law Johnny Pegg; cousins, Brian, Brooklyn, and Scarlet Sparks; his friends who were like brothers, Burns (Megan) Garner, Ronnie (Sherry) Conlin, & Aaron (Krista) Conlin as well as their children; his fur children, Bond and Mocha Retherford; cousins and other family, as well as numerous friends. Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Retherford; his grandfathers, Richard Bailey and Damon Retherford.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM with Pastor Ty Choate officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Code of Vets. https://www.codeofvets.com
