Joshua J. Smith

Joshua J. Smith, age 29 of Trenton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 11:59 AM. He was born in Hamilton on May 12, 1978 the son of Jimmy and Connie (Garrett) Smith. Joshua was employed as a laborer at Faith Gas Piping and attended Church of God of Prophecy. On August 30, 2003 in Trenton he was married to Dawn Verdin.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Smith of Trenton; three children, Taylor, Alyssa, and Joshua Jr. of Trenton; his parents; Jimmy and Connie Smith of Hamilton; two brothers, Jimmy Smith Jr. and Jason Smith, both of Hamilton; two nieces, Lacey Smith and Candace Barr, both of Hamilton; his grandparents, Elbert and JoAnn Garrett and Christine Chasteen, all of Hamilton; his mother- and father-in-law, Doug and Joy Gentry of Hamilton; sister-in-law, Stephanie Gentry of Hamilton; and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 10:00 AM with District Overseer Pastor Gary Justice of Church of God of Prophecy officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
