Joy B. Schwab, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at Liberty Nursing Center of Oxford on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 4:38 PM. She was born in Hamilton on May 27, 1923 the daughter of Noah R. and Gladys (Beard) Gillespie. Joy was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Ladies Aid, and Butler County Farm Bureau. On September 16, 1944 in Millville, she married Arthur Schwab.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Schwab of Hamilton; two brothers, Frank (Amanda) Gillespie of Hamilton and Jim (Ann) Gillespie of Aurora, Indiana; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at the Faith United Church of Christ, 1877 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Allen Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
