Joyce Griffin

Joyce Griffin, age 53 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Sunday, February 17, 2008. She was born in Hamilton on July 22, 1954 the daughter of Homer and Margie F. (Mooney) Turner. Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. On July 31, 1982 in Hamilton she was married to Marvin E. Griffin. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Marvin E. Griffin of Hamilton; a son, Bryan Keith Turner of Hamilton; a daughter, Margie Renee and her husband David M. Richardson of Trenton; two grandchildren, Angela Rose and Taylor Marie Richardson; her mother, Margie F. Elam of Hamilton; two brothers, John (Karen) Turner and Randy Turner, both of Hamilton; two sisters, Sarah Fucci of Lexington, South Carolina and Lorraine (Sterlin) Martin of Concord, North Carolina; 21 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and nephews; and many loving in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Turner and very special stepfather, Charles Elam. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastors Lamon Hubbs and Ron Mall of New Testament Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
