Judy Ann Simmons

Judy Ann Simmons, age 82 of Liberty Twp., Ohio, passed away at Heritage Springs Nursing Home on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 3:45AM. She was born in Wytheville, VA on March 6, 1933; to Elmer and Cora (Kelly) Simmons. Judy had a Bachelor’s Degree from Olivet Nazarene University and a Masters of Education Degree from Northern Arizona University. Judy was employed at Arizona Public Schools for 19 years as an Elementary School Teacher, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Tri County Church of the Nazarene for many years. Judy is survived by one sister, Marilyn (Frank Lowell) Purdy, of Cresco, PA; her nephew, Frank (Joan) Purdy III of Effort, PA, and her niece, Pamela (Douglas) Dunay of Flagstaff, Arizona and three great-nieces, Emily Purdy, Brittany Dunay and Savannah Dunay. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Donald Simmons, and a sister-in-law Donna Simmons. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 6PM-7PM at Tri County Church of the Nazarene, on 4778 Tylersville Rd. Funeral service will follow at the church at 7PM with Rev. Dan Walters officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 1030 a.m. at Springhill Cemetery. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com.
