Julia Parker

Julia Parker, age 92, of Williamsdale, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, February 11, 2010. She was born in Lily, Kentucky on August 22, 1917 the daughter of John H. and Ida (Murphy) Black. Julia was formerly employed as a clerk at K-Mart. She was a member of Redeemer Baptist Church. On May 14, 1948 in London, Kentucky she married James B. Parker who passed away on June 12, 1990.

She is survived by her son, John Lee Parker of Hamilton; a sister, Roberta Thompson of London, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and six siblings, Edgar Black, Clatus Black, Hazel Britton, Virgil Black, Elmer Black and William Black.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., on Monday February 15th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard Coldiron of Redeemer Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
