June E. Sallee

June E. Sallee, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Monday, January 18, 2010. She was born in Hamilton on June 19, 1920 the daughter of Irvin and Alice (Ballard) Pennington. June was the former owner/operator of East Avenue Lunch. She was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God. She was very devoted to her family. On July 25, 1959 in Hamilton, she married Claud Sallee, who preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by two sons, James Dennis (Doris) Gray of Fairfield and Ron (Gladys) Gray of Cincinnati; a daughter, Phyllis (Charlie) Miller of Brown Valley, California; eight grandchildren, James (currently serving with the U.S. Navy), Kevin, Tara, Kelly, Candice, Mark, Rhonda, and Tina; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and four sisters, Mae Knisley of Fairfield, Bonnie Thompson of Hamilton, Tootie Pennington and Jackie Seals, both of Fairfield. June was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Frank and James; and a great-grandson, Ethen.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rick Witt and Rev. Marvin Cann officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
