K. Dean Withrow, age 55 of Hamilton went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2007 after struggling with a prolonged illness. He was born on October 26, 1952 in Hamilton, the son of Merle J. and Dorothy Withrow. K. Dean graduated from Taft High School in 1971 and the University of Cincinnati in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He married Janet McCracken in 1986. K. Dean was employed as a tool and die maker at Fisher Body for ten years until the plant closed in 1987, then finished his career as an engineer for CSX Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton. Those who knew K. Dean well will remember him as having a keen sense of humor, always finding the funny side of life, and as being a loyal friend. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, working out, and challenging his mind with the study of mathematics. K. Dean was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his son, Andy, attending various sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Withrow; his son, Andrew Walton Withrow; stepdaughter, Krista (Adrian) Rudick; grandson, Brayden Rudick; his mother, Dorothy Withrow; two brothers, Anthony Scott (Beverly) Withrow and Merle Jan (Rosanne) Withrow; a sister, Jene’ (James) Krall; very special aunts and uncles, Lorraine and Rex Collier, Bud and Jeri Conrad, Leonard and Sis Osso, Eldon and Faye Withrow, Glen and Lois Withrow, Janie Withrow and Jean Barger; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jay Withrow; grandparents Elva and Cora Blankenship; and cousin, Keith Collier.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 7:00 PM with Dr. Dennis Metzger of First Baptist Church of Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A committal service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Somerville Cemetery. K. Dean’s family would like to thank the First Baptist Church of Hamilton for their many prayers and a special thanks to Pastor Bill Brantingham for his kindness and devotion.
