Karla Sue Rice

Karla Sue Rice, age 71 of Trenton, passed away at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Karla was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 21, 1950 to Boyd and Sarah (Stinger) Green. On February 21, 1970 in Hamilton, she married the love of her life, John Rice. After taking time to raise her family, Karla worked at Bakery Craft and enjoyed her time there with her coworkers. Karla also enjoyed spending time with family, baking (her specialty was her peanut butter fudge), crafting, serving in church ministry and loved teaching children about Jesus.

Karla is survived by her daughters, Veronica Rice, Rebecca (Johnny) Laws, April (Walter III) Schneider and Diana (Timothy) Frodge; her grandchildren, Samantha (Shawn) Alcorn, Johnathon Laws, Michael “Nate” Gray, Timothy Frodge Jr., KaSarah Laws, Kayla Schneider and Alyssa Davis; her great grandchildren, Aiden Laws, Ava Alcorn, Jackson Alcorn along with her two great grandbabies to arrive in 2022; her sister, Karen (the late James “Woody”) Woods; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Sarah Green; and her husband of 51 years, John Henry Rice.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Trenton, 305 Cypress Ave, Trenton, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Carmody officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Trenton. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.
