Katealin "Katie" D. Digonno

March 31, 1990 — January 2, 2024

Katealin “Katie” D. Digonno, age 33 of Hamilton, OH departed this world on January 2nd, 2024 after losing her battle with esophageal cancer. Katie was born March 31st, 1990 to Ruby and Antonio “Tony” Digonno Jr. She was raised in Hamilton, OH and attended Ross High School. After high school she followed her passion for food to culinary school and received an associate degree in the culinary arts.

Katie is survived by her beloved mother, Ruby Digonno; loving sisters, Nicole Trumbull and Johna Sanchez-Digonno; her favorite brother-in-laws, Phil Trumbull and Leo Sanchez. She is also survived by her most cherished nieces and nephews, Julia Trumbull, Noah Trumbull, Tony Sanchez-Digonno and Ruby Sanchez-Digonno. Katie’s nieces and nephews were the true joy of her life, she was deeply devoted to them and loved being able to spend time with them.

She is also survived by two loving aunts, Liz Phipps (Greg) of West Liberty, KY and Shevella (Jerry) Yates of Hamilton, OH; and two loving uncles, Nick Digonno of Hamilton, OH and Archie Smith (Reva) of West Liberty, KY and several cousins.

Katie is preceded in death by her father, Antonio “Tony” Digonno Jr.; grandfather, Antonio “Tony” Digonno Sr.; grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Digonno; uncle, John M. Digonno; maternal grandparents, Doranto “Bud” and Dorthy Smith.

Katie lived her life unapologetically. Never one to conform  just because; she sought out her interests and leaned in. Her love of music was established at an early age by her father constantly blasting 80’s glam metal and her love of show-tunes was unmatched. She was also artistic, loving to draw and color with her nieces and nephews- she loved to help with a school project. Above all else, Katie loved food. She loved cooking. Katie explored the world through food and was always excited to try something new. She spent her last days dictating basic cooking principles to her family. She loved answering all their questions and being the family head chef.

Katie was always true to herself and encouraged everyone to do the same. She will be deeply missed.
