Kathleen Helton

Kathleen Helton, age 69, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at Marion General Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was born in Hamilton on December 4, 1941 the daughter of Melvin and Marinda (Turner) Riley. Kathleen devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord and was a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church, Marion. She was a loving and caring lady. On August 13, 1960 at 11th Street Baptist Church in Hamilton she married Ronald Helton.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald Helton; two sons, Scott (Sarah) Helton and Jeff Helton; four grandchildren, Tina Purvis of Marion, Indiana, Matthew Helton, Brian (Ashley) Helton, and Andrew Helton; three great-grandchildren, Madyson Coffey, Aiden Helton, and Issac Helton; a brother, Brown (Debbie) Turner; her best friend and loving sister, Joanna (the late Larry) Stidham; a sister-in-law, Diana Riley; a niece, Tammy (Mark) Mitchell; nephews Steve (Sherrie) Turner, Greg (Karen) Turner, Larry (Tammy) Stidham, Travis Riley, and Ryan and Jamie Riley; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra L. Helton; a son, Brian C. Helton; a brother, Kenny Riley; and a nephew, Michael Turner.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, Feb. 9. 2011 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Mark Wilson of North Fairfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
