Kathleen Rose Smith

Kathleen Rose Smith, age 62 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. She was born in Bellshill, Scotland on August 13, 1953 the daughter of Joseph and Annie (McSherry) McIlvaney. Kathleen was employed as a manager at Wendy’s for more than twenty five years. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. On February 2, 1974 in Bellshill, Scotland she married Steven Roy Smith and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by her son, Steven Joseph Smith, her granddaughter, Zella Abner-Smith, both of Hamilton; her brother, Thomas (Helen) McIlvaney; her sister, Jacqueline (William) Flanagan; her nephew and niece, Kieran and Kathleen,all of Bellshill, Scotland; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jamie McIlvaney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Father Jim Wedig, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
