Kathleen J. Summers

Kathleen J. Summers, age 81 of Hamilton passed away in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 2PM. She was born in Wilmore, Kentucky on June 18, 1925, the daughter of William and Catherine (Rice) Summers. Kathleen was a member of the Disciples Christian Church and the American Business Women’s Association. She was employed in the Payroll Dept. for CXS Railroad (formerly the B&O Railroad with her father at that time was yard master in Hamilton and Cincinnati) for forty-three years retiring in 1985.

She is survived by three sisters; Billie Rigg of Dayton, Ohio, Betty (Gene) Lively of Phoenix, Arizona and Ruby (Rev. Orville) Burk of Fairfield and also thirteen nieces and nephews and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Stumpf.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 1PM with Rev. Rebecca Baird, Pastor of Disciples Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 1PM. The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association or to the favorite charity of donor’s choice.
