Kathryn Louise Heitfield

Kathryn Louise Heitfield, age 81, formerly of Bath, Indiana, passed away at the home of her daughter in Brookville, Indiana on Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was born in Hamilton on January 6, 1927 the daughter of Pless and Lena (Roop) Dees. Kathryn was a homemaker devoted to her family. On February 20, 1943 in Kentucky she married Allison Leroy Heitfield who preceded her in death in 1989.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Elaine) Heitfield of Hamilton and Stephen Dale (Diana) Heitfield of Hamilton; three daughters, Donna (Lonnie) Nelson of Brookville, Indiana, Karen (Bill) Klingel of Hamilton, and Tracy Heitfield of Brookville, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Sue (the late Terry) Heitfield of Fairfield; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Hoffman of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Terry Heitfield; two brothers, Walter and Roy; and five sisters, Pearl, Della, Mabel, Dody, and Agnes.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Dennis Betts officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, Indiana. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Kathryn’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Tammy Miller for her care and concern, and to the staff of Vitas Hospice especially Kathy and Evelyn.
