Kenneth E. Brockman

Kenneth E. Brockman, age 79 of Hamilton, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 4:41PM. He was born in Hamilton on July 26, 1936 to Lawrence and Ruth (Gabbard) Brockman. Kenneth was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany in the 1950’s. Kenneth retired from Monsanto, EDS, and Hamilton City Schools, retiring for the final time in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with his family, researching geneology, and studying history and astronomy. Kenneth’s biggest passion outside of family was the University of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball team.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth E. (Becky) Brockman Jr., of Hamilton,Barbara Ann (Tom) Conlin, of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Randy Brockman, of Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth Brockman, of Camden, OH, and Jessica Conlin, of Carmel, IN; two step grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Leeds, stationed in Fort Polk, LA, and Bryce Leeds of Hamilton, OH; one great granddaughter, Mckinzie Philpot; three sisters, Janie Hocker, Margie (Orville) Madden, and Loretta Fee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Brockman; his father, Lawrence Brockman, his mother Ruth Oakes, and his stepfather, Lyman Oakes; one son, Dennis Ray Brockman; and one grandson, Kelly Ray Brockman.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11AM with JR Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 5PM-8PM at the funeral home, and also on Wednesday from 10AM until time of service at 11AM. The family encourages all guests to wear their favorite Kentucky Wildcat gear or Kentucky Blue to the visitation and funeral as a tribute to Kenneth.
