Kenneth Earsel Cheek of Hamilton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2026. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio August 2, 1972 to Earsel and Phyllis Cheek. He attended New Miami Local Schools also received his police, firefighter, EMT and nursing certifications at Butler Tech Hamilton. Kenneth was very proud of his hometown,
The Village of New Miami. He coached football, spent numerous years patrolling the streets as a policeman, and eventually becoming the police chief. He also served as Mayor of New Miami, worked at the Butler County Sheriffs Office, Hamilton Municipal Court and Oxford Twp. Police Department. He ended the work force as a nurse for the Butler County Care Facility.
He is survived by his mother Phyllis Cheek, his wife Sandra Cheek and children Adam Smith, Elijah Cheek, Shiann Cheek, Avery Cheek, Bella Cheek, Kyra Chapman and Malique Farthing; his grandchildren: Danielle (Colin) Hensley-Spicer, Kendra Smith, Jerrick (Katie) Holland and Gunner Smith; and one great grand child, Hunter Hart. Kenneth is also survived by his brother Donald (Donna) Cheek, his sister Teresa (Todd) Roberts, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Earsel (Jim) Cheek. a sister Rita Smith, and grandson Axel Smith.
Services will be held at Pentecostal Faith Church, 30 Cain Avenue in New Miami, Friday March 27, 2026 with a visitation from 12pm until 1pm and a service immediately following. Pastor Stephen Allen and Reverend Arnie Turner will be officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Flat cemetery immediately following the service. Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kenneth's arrangements. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice of Cincinnati and his care team Donna, Erika and Pricilla.
