Kenneth W. Hargraves

Kenneth W. Hargraves, age 76 passed away peacefully on July 19, 2009 at his home. Ken was born on October 10, 1932 in Hamilton, the son of Elias and Provie (Dixon) Hargraves. He was educated in the Hamilton City Schools and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1950. Ken served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Proctor & Gamble and retired after 31 years of service. Ken was a member of North Fairfield Baptist Church.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Betty; loving father of daughter, Sue Hargraves and son, Russell Hargraves; a brother, Weldon (Kathleen) Hargraves; and a sister, Gladys Ponder. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Bonnie, and Chelsea Hargraves; and sisters Oma Murphy, Viola Anders, Zula Mae Gibbs and Willie Jo Bowling.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Millville Cemetery. Ken’s family would like to express their appreciation to Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
