Kenneth Edward Kowalski, age 45, passed away on the evening of July 27, 2016, at Florida Hospital in Carrollwood, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. Ken was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 22, 1970. He was the seventh child, and the fourth son, of James Martin and Janis Mary (Dorsey) Kowalski.
Upon graduating from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati in 1988, Ken joined the U.S. Army, where he served for 27 years with distinction, earning numerous commendations.
Ken was a brave and loyal soldier, but first and foremost, a patient and loving father. He was blessed with a generous sense of humor, natural empathy, and a zest for life. Ken was loved by many and was often described as a favorite co-worker, charitable friend, cherished cousin, dutiful brother, favorite uncle, devoted father and loving son.
Ken is survived by parents, Jim and Janis Kowalski; children, Abby, Chloe, George and Mitch Kowalski; siblings, Lt. General (ret) James Kowalski (Julanne), John Kowalski (Nancy), Ruth Connolly (John), Mary Kay Kowalski, Ann Kohls (Bryon), Joseph Kowalski (Anne), Kathryn Keita (Kande), Michael Kowalski (Christina), and Patricia Cooper (Brian); and countless dear friends and relatives.
A mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Jim Elsbernd will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Hamilton, followed by interment at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio. Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to St. Joseph Consolidated School in Hamilton Ohio.
