Kenneth Coffey Rose, age 68 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. He was born on November 3, 1943 in Liberty, Indiana, the son of Woodrow and Mildred (Coffey) Rose, and moved to Oxford at a young age. Kenny graduated from Talawanda High School in 1962, where he excelled in all sports and held several records. He attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee on a basketball scholarship. Kenny was inducted into the Butler County Hall of Fame, Talawanda High School Hall of Fame, and Butler County Softball Hall of Fame. He played softball in the area for several championship teams and on several traveling teams. Kenny was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He retired from General Motors.
He is survived by two sons, David A. (Tami) Rose and their children Baylee, Hannah, and Ali; Kenneth B. (Kathy) Rose; and a daughter Merry Robin Schneider and children Zachary and Sydney; and his ever-faithful dog, Tuffy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert H. Rose; and a sister, Jean Huffman.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Fairfield Athletic Department, 8800 Holden Blvd., Fairfield OH 45014. Cremation has taken place.
