Kimberly Thomas, a woman of boundless spirit and infinite love, passed away unexpectedly on October 12th, 2025. She was a proud daughter, devoted wife, nurturing mother, adoring grandmother, and loyal friend. Her love was deep, endless, and fiercely protective – her family was her world, and she would have chosen them a thousand times over.
Born with a heart full of wonder, Kimberly saw beauty everywhere. Though never a professional, she was a photographer in soul and instinct – capturing moments that spoke to her, no matter where she was. Her camera was an extension of her heart, and saying “no” to a photo wasn’t an option.
Kimberly found joy in the simple and magical aspects of life. She loved camping and treasured her camping family. The Renaissance Festival held a special place in her heart, as did her beloved Gatlinburg getaways – her home away from home, where laughter echoed and memories bloomed.
She graduated from Winton Woods High School and dedicated 39 years of service to The Kroger Company, where her work ethic and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jacqueline McMurray-Sheffield, her father Richard Davis, her father-in-law Jack Thomas, and her mother-in-law Arlene Thomas.
She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Thomas and their cherished puppy Otis Ray Thomas; her sons Eric Estep (wife Kayla and daughter Charlotte) and Taylor Estep; her “bonus” daughter Annie Gresham (husband James and daughter Evelyn Hinson); her siblings Jeffrey Davis (partner Crystal Christophel, children Josie, Allison, Christopher, Helen, Lillian, Makenzie Braun, and Brody Christophel), Scott Sheffield, and Kristen Booker (husband Lee Booker, children Brittany Levine, Tyler Levine, and Sarah Lenhardt); her mother Joyce Davis; her Aunt Kathy and Uncle Denny (children Denise, Denny, and Jennifer); and a wide circle of extended family and friends who were touched by her light.
Kimberly’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and fierce devotion. Her spirit lives on in every photograph, every memory, and every heart she touched.
