Laura O. Hubbard died peacefully Sunday afternoon, April 1, 2007 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center after suffering from a long illness. Laura was born May 22, 1922 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Roy R. Hubbard; parents, John L. and Minnie (Scarce) Tucker, sisters, Mozella Cavasos and husband Elmer, Minnie Haun and husband James, brother John Tucker and wife Marcella, and brother-in-law, J. D. Burchette.
Survivors include her son William R. Hubbard of Hamilton, and sisters, Sarah Burchette, Edna Brady and husband John E. Brady all of Knoxville, Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Laura loved to laugh and loved people. She lived her life with grace and dignity and will be missed by many. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Shrine. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the entire staff of Sunrise Assisted Living Center and also Vitas Hospice for all of their love and support.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 PM to 8 PM at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., where the funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens.
