Laverne Barger

LaVerne Barger, age 93 of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. LaVerne was born in Manchester, Kentucky on May 29, 1923 to Walter and Rose (Jarvis) Lewis. On April 2, 1949 she was married to the love of her life, Andrew Clarkston. LaVerne worked at Pepsi-Cola for 39 years. She was a faithful member of Princeton Pike Church of God. LaVerne was a devoted Christian working in the nursery and visiting nursing homes.

LaVerne is survived by her daughters, Betty Jo Kilgore and Tanya Mills ; her grandchildren, Sonya Raintree, Andrew Shifflett, Rhonda Murray, Kathy (Dana) Pendergrass, and Michelle Lloyd; 20 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; her special nieces, Barbara Robinette and Francis Weiler; and many other nieces and nephews that were so dear to her heart, each one was so special to her. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Lisa Kilgore, her siblings, Mattie Craft, Vance Lewis, Mose Lewis, Joe Lewis, Elmer Lewis, Gladys Crawford, Walter L. Lewis, Malveria Diesch, Earnest Lewis, T.J. Lewis, Homer Lewis, Ted Lewis, and Mildred Lewellen, and a special nephew, Clyde Sizemore.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. A special thanks to Victoria Allen for all her love and care that she gave to her great grandmother for the past 18 months.
