Laverne Marshall

LaVerne Marshall, age 69 of Hamilton went to Heaven to watch over us all at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 4:55 PM. She was born in Hamilton on February 4, 1941 the daughter of Shirley and Helen (Lairson) Snowden. LaVerne was employed as a baker at Kroger for 17 years, retiring in 2004 to help raise Emily and spend time with family. She was a member of the Christ Church. LaVerne was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. On July 4, 1979 in Hamilton she married Delbert "Ray" Marshall.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend who is survived by her husband, Delbert "Ray" Marshall; six children, Russell (Connie) Mayse Jr., Michael (Judy) Mayse, Sarah (Dave) Wagner, Karl Mayse, Andrea Williams, and Angela Marshall; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and ten siblings. She was preceded in death by her father, Shirley Snowden; her mother, Helen Durbin; and five siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Neil Gabbard of Christ Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
