Lawrence Rose

Lawrence Rose, age 91 of Fairfield passed away at Tri-County Extended Care Center on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 2:30 PM. He was born in Hamilton on July 30, 1919 the son of Brownie and Minnie (Sapp) Rose. Lawrence was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was employed as fire chief for the City of Hamilton. Lawrence was instrumental in obtaining paramedic services in Hamilton, was a member of the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame, and was a charter member of Hamilton Church of God. On January 27, 1941 in Hamilton he married Juanita Whitaker.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Rose of Fairfield; a son, Larry (Joyce) Rose of Hamilton; a daughter, Myra (John) Loman of Hamilton; a sister, Dorothy Horning of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Chris Rose of Hamilton, Jill (Mike) Merrill of Ross, Sherrie McQueen of Hamilton, and John Loman Jr. of Hamilton; and seven great-grandchildren, Chad Merrill of Seven Mile, Nicholas Merrill of Ross, Katelynn McQueen, Jeremy McQueen, Tanner Loman, all of Hamilton, Ruby Loman and John Loman Jr., both of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert Rose; and a great-granddaughter, Myranda Ann Merrill.

Funeral service will be held at the Hamilton Church of God, 1760 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Alan Weaver, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
