Lawrence W. Spurgeon

Lawrence Wayne Spurgeon, age 65 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:44 AM. He was born in Hamilton on October 9, 1945 the son of Roy and Dorothy (Jarvis) Spurgeon. Lawrence was employed in the maintenance department at D. Russell Lee Vocational School.

He is survived by his sister, Bertha Kirby of Hamilton, brother, Garland Thomas (Donna) Spurgeon of Clearwater, Florida; two nieces, Patricia and Christina Spurgeon; and two nephews, Rex and Roy Spurgeon. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Spurgeon; mother, Dorothy West, and brother-in-law, Nelson Kirby.

Graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
