Lawson E. Tinker, age 73 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 9:48 AM. He was born in Cincinnati on February 28, 1938 the son of Earl and Dorothy Tinker. Lawson was employed as a machinist and mechanic at Proctor & Gamble for 29 years, retiring in 1995. He attended Hamilton Church of God. On February 3, 1990 in Hamilton he married Vicki Thorpe.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Tinker of Hamilton; six children, Tina L. (Terry) Smades of Wichita, Kansas, Tracey A. Tinker of Fairfield, William E. Tinker of Mason, Toni L. (Dennis) Howard of Wichita, Kansas, Hugh S. (Barbara) Tinker of Liberty Township, and Trisha L. Tinker of Springdale; a brother, Alan C. Tinker of Harrison; 9 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lawson E. Tinker; and two brothers, Raymond and Carl Tinker.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Alan Weaver of Hamilton Church of God officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
