Lela Joyce Hisle Sizemore

Lela Joyce Hisle Sizemore, age 74 of Hamilton passed away at Birchwood Care Center on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 4:45 PM. She was born in Fayette, Kentucky on October 12, 1937 the daughter of Samuel Brock and Bessie (Cusinberry) Hisle. Joyce was a devout Christian as well as a wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma who loved her children unconditionally. She was a wonderful mom to her children, even raising one of her grandchildren from birth. Joyce was a friend to anyone she would meet on her path through this world, never turning anyone away from her door and treating them with remarkable loving kindness. She was a faithful, loving and loyal lady who, through many of life’s hard times, could always manage to make do with what she had and to find many of God’s windows to light her way. Joyce was and is deeply loved and will never be replaced, and will be eternally missed. We know that she’s at peace in Heaven with her Heavenly Father and family that have passed on. She’s smiling down on all of us and saying, "Oh, if you could see me now, how happy you all would be."

She is survived by a daughter Helen Marie Jones of Hamilton; two sons, Raymond Carl Jones of Texas and James Robert (Tracey) Gill of Hamilton; two stepdaughters, Brenda Gill and Sally Gill, and their families; six grandchildren, Shaunina Nelson, Amanda Smith, Melissa Sizemore (who Joyce raised), Danielle Winkler, and Kristina Brunck; eleven great-grandchildren, Mariah Nelson, Scotty Bley, Brendon and DJ Smith, Madison, Caiden, and Caily Jones, Alexandria and Natalee Winkler, Hailley and Branton Brunck; a special friend Lois Patillo; and many friends at Birchwood and others she met throughout her life that are too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Martha Jean Jones; and four brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
