Leland H. Mericle

Leland H. Mericle, age 67 of Hamilton passed away while visiting in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday, April 23, 2010. He was born in Carey, Ohio on September 17, 1942, the son of Charles and Katherine (Cruise) Mericle. Leland was retired from Fernald. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening and cooking. He was an avid bowler for many years. On February 14, 1987 in Hamilton, he married Marcia (Edwards) Harding.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Mericle; beloved pet, Tobie; a daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Duritsch of West Harrison, Indiana; a son, David (Tami Noll) Harding of Hamilton; five grandchildren; a brother, David (Sandra) Mericle of Ohio; two sisters, Barbara (Fred) Katzer of South Carolina and Bonnie (David) Babcock of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Mericle and Mary Lou Mericle both of Illinois; close friend, George Spears of Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas Mericle; two brothers, Paul and Robert and a sister, Julia Kessinger.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 10AM with Dr. Allen C . Minor of Faith United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Butler Co. Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
